Robins accept Heffernan bid

Bristol City have accepted a bid from Oldham Athletic for Paul Heffernan.

The promising 23-year-old has never really settled at Ashton Gate after a move from Notts County and will now undergo talks with the North West outfit.

Skysports.com revealed on Wednesday that Oldham were tracking Heffernan and now the club have firmed up their interest with a bid.

Oldham have been the division's biggest movers in the transfer market since the season's close, as boss Ronnie Moore looks to mount a serious promotion bid next term.

Meanwhile, it looks as though veteran wide man David Eyres could be on his way out of Boundary Park having not been impressed with the club's latest contract offer.

The 41-year-old remains a favourite at Boundary Park but seems reluctant to put pen-to-paper on a pay-as-you-play deal.
