City let Johnson and Hunt leave
Bristol City have released Lee Johnson and Nicky Hunt after their contracts were terminated by mutual consent.
Johnson, 30, who helped the club secure automatic promotion to the Championship and played in their Wembley play-off defeat at the hands of Hull City, departs after five-and-a-half years at Ashton Gate.
The midfielder, son of former Robins boss Gary, accumulated 195 appearances and 11 goals during his spell at the club and leaves in the hope of furthering his career elsewhere.
Meanwhile, 28-year-old Hunt has been eager to seek regular football after making just eight appearances since his arrival on a free transfer from Bolton two years ago.
The full-back suffered knee cartilage damage back in November, but the 29-year-old Lancastrian failed to make an impression under manager Derek McInnes and is now a free agent.
