Aitor Karanka will be hoping for better than last season's 17th-place finish in his first full campaign in charge and Forest have made some ambitious moves already in the transfer market, signing Portuguese playmaker Joao Carvalho from Benfica for £13.2m.

Forest supporters will get their first glimpse of their new record signing in their first televised game of the season against West Brom at the City Ground on August 7 from 7.45pm.

Matches against Midlands rivals Derby are always strongly anticipated and Forest will play Frank Lampard's side away on December 15 and then at home on February 23.

Boxing Day sees them travel to Carrow Road to face Norwich while their final fixture of the season is against Bolton at home on May 5.
