Roy Keane has been confirmed as Martin O'Neill's assistant at Nottingham Forest.
Keane has been out of work since leaving his role as assistant manager with the Republic of Ireland in November.
The 47-year-old was part of O'Neill's backroom staff during their five-year spell in charge of the national team between 2013 and 2018.
Like O'Neill, Keane is a favourite at Forest after making over 100 appearances for the club between 1990 and 1993 before moving to Manchester United, where he went on to win seven Premier League titles.
"I am happy to be back. I am looking forward to it, it's a big challenge and I'm ready for it," Keane told the club's official website.
"Obviously, I had great memories of my career here as a player, the club gave me my chance and I will always remember them for that.
"It is a different challenge now and I am in a different position coaching the players. I am looking forward to it, a huge challenge ahead and 20 years out of the Premier League.
"It will be tough but I am looking forward to it."
O'Neill, who left his job with Ireland at the same time as Keane, made it clear he wanted the former Manchester United captain to join him when he took charge at Forest earlier this month.
He joins the backroom staff with immediate effect.
