Nottingham Forest have confirmed a two-year contract has been agreed to re-sign midfielder Andy Reid.

Midfielder to undergo medical before finalising return to first club

Nottingham Forest have confirmed a two-year contract has been agreed to bring midfielder Andy Reid back to the City Ground. Skysports.com revealed earlier on Friday that the Republic of Ireland international was set to rejoin his first club on a free transfer. He is due to undergo a medical on Friday afternoon before putting the finishing touches to a deal to become Steve McClaren's first signing as manager. Reid started his career with Forest and made over 150 appearances for the club before leaving for Tottenham Hotspur in a £4million transfer in January 2005. The 28-year-old spent the second half of last season at Blackpool, but made just five appearances for Ian Holloway's side after arriving from Sunderland. McClaren is keen to improve his squad ahead of mounting a promotion push next term and Reid's experience would be a valuable addition.
