Nottingham Forest have completed the signing of Dutch striker Lars Veldwijk from Excelsior.

The 22-year-old has joined the Reds for an undisclosed fee and has signed a three-year contract at the City Ground.

Veldwijk scored 34 goals in 42 league games last season, including four in as many matches during the end-of-season play-offs, as Excelsior won promotion to the Eredivisie.

He made his professional debut with Dutch first division side FC Volendam in 2011 after earlier spells with Legmeervogels and SV Argon.

FC Utrecht then signed him but he failed to make an impact and was loaned out to FC Dordrecht where he netted 16 goals in 33 matches to catch the eye of Excelsior, who signed him last season.
