Yeovil captain Darren Ward has extended his stay with the Sky Bet League Two club until June 2017.

The 37-year-old has played 12 times in all competitions for the Glovers since moving to Huish Park in November.

Manager Darren Way told the club's official website: "This is fantastic news for the football club.

"Since joining, Darren has been a leader in the dressing room and a leader on the pitch. You certainly need someone like that to go into battle with and achieve our objective of staying in the Football League.

"Darren has proved that even at his age he is a model professional and is as fit as they come. After the turnover of games over Christmas, he hasn't missed a session or a minute's action and wants to play for as long as he can and Yeovil Town will help him achieve that."
