Paul Scholes set to become Oldham boss as Pete Wild admits he may have taken final game

Oldham caretaker manager Pete Wild admitted the 3-0 win at Crawley on Saturday looks like his last in charge, with Paul Scholes set to take over at Boundary Park.
The EFL confirmed on Friday there would be no impediment to Scholes taking the job, as is expected, despite the former Manchester United and England player owning a 10 per cent stake in Salford City, who are fifth in the National League table and pushing for promotion to Sky Bet League Two.
Wild has taken charge of the Latics' last eight matches since Frankie Bunn was sacked after the 6-0 thrashing away to Carlisle on Boxing Day.
But Wild, who has guided Oldham to four wins, three defeats and a draw in that time, concedes the game at the People's Pension Stadium will probably be his finale as manager.
When asked if that would be his last game in charge, Wild told Sky Sports News: "I think so but, as with all these eight games, I have come in every morning, tried my best and worked hard, and I'll just plan for tomorrow.
"I have just got to keep on working like that."
