Swansea City forward Andre Ayew is battling to be fit for Saturday's Premier League game at Stoke City.

The 26-year-old has missed the Swans' last two games after suffering an ankle injury in the closing stages of the 1-0 home victory over Norwich City on March 5.

However, he is now on the mend and has a slight chance of being available for the trip to the Britannia Stadium after training on his own on Wednesday following a brief spell in France for treatment on the injury.

Ghana international Ayew joined Swansea on a free transfer from Marseille last summer.

He has scored eight goals in 29 games for the Swans this season and his return will be welcomed by boss Francesco Guidolin as the Welsh club look to secure their place in the Premier League for next term.

Swansea, who are 10 points clear of the relegation zone with seven matches remaining, lost 3-2 at Bournemouth and then won 1-0 at home to Aston Villa in the two fixtures Ayew missed ahead of the international break.
