Highlights of Doncaster’s 2-0 win over Colchester from League One.

Darren Ferguson chalked up his first home victory and first clean sheet as Doncaster manager with a hard-fought 2-0 win over Colchester.

Rovers rode their luck at times but battled hard for their recently appointed boss in a game watched by his father Sir Alex Ferguson.

Home goalkeeper Thorsten Stuckmann had to make a couple of fine saves to deny George Moncur and Callum Harriott before Doncaster took the lead in the 41st minute.

It took a goal out of the blue for Conor Grant to break the deadlock with a stunning left-footed shot from 20 yards on his debut on loan from Everton.

Colchester could count themselves unfortunate to be behind, but Rovers grew in confidence after the interval and added a second goal in the 64th minute.

James Coppinger latched on to a long ball out of defence to race away before setting up Andy Williams to fire home in fine style.
