Saunders keen to see if midfielder is better than current squad
Doncaster Rovers manager Dean Saunders has challenged Herold Goulon to prove he merits a move after taking the Blackburn Rovers midfielder on trial.
Goulon joined Blackburn in October last year, but has made only four Premier League appearances for the club and has not featured under Steve Kean this season.
Blackburn boss Kean is prepared to let the 23-year-old move on and his Doncaster counterpart Saunders is eager to see what the Frenchman has to offer.
"He played in the reserve game last week and he's coming in for a week's training," Doncaster boss Saunders told the
Sheffield Star.
"Blackburn have given him permission to come and train with us and, if I think that he is better than what we've got, I'll try and do something about it.
"In the situation we are in, we've got to try and persuade players that if they play for Doncaster they are in the shop window.
"If they want to play in the Premiership it's no use not playing wherever they are, they may as well come and play for us and, if we are lucky, they might stay."
