Saunders poised to add Villa defender to his ranks

Skysports.com understands Doncaster Rovers are poised to sign Aston Villa defender Habib Beye on loan. Doncaster boss Dean Saunders has moved to bring in the former Newcastle man on an emergency loan to bolster his ranks. The Senegal international will join compatriot El-Hadji Diouf at the Keepmoat Stadium as the club continue their policy of bringing in high-profile players on short-term deals. Beye has found himself well down the pecking order at Villa with his only appearance this term coming as a late substitute in the Carling Cup win over Hereford. The 34-year-old has only made nine appearances since joining from Newcastle in 2009 and Alex McLeish is happy to loan him out. Beye's contract expires in the summer and he will use the move to put himself in the shop window with the defender unlikely to get a new deal at Villa Park.
