Millwall youngster Ben Thompson pens new contract

Millwall defender Ben Thompson has extended his stay at The Den by signing a contract extension which runs until the summer of 2017.

The 20-year-old joined the club's academy at the age of 16 and has impressed so far this season making 15 appearances for the first team.

Thompson is a lifelong Lions fans and is hoping that he can become a solid member of the first team.

He told the club's official website: "I'm delighted to have extended my contract.

"I'm really enjoying being part of the first team, training and playing with a great set of lads and learning from the management team.

"Hopefully I can push into the starting XI more and more in the coming months and make a positive impact on and off the pitch."

Millwall's manager Neil Harris believes the 20-year-old has a bright future with the club.
