Highlights of the Sky Bet League Two match between Gillingham and Northampton.

Gillingham and Northampton shared the points after a cagey affair finished 1-1 at Priestfield.

Conor McManus marked his first EFL start with a goal early on for the hosts, only for Logan Briggs to cancel out the advantage shortly before the interval as Northampton secured a point.

Ronan Hale and James Brophy went close in the second half but were denied by smart saves by goalkeeper Zach Jeacock.

The hosts got off to the perfect start, taking the lead inside 10 minutes. Nick Freeman was allowed time on the right to pick out a cross and his delivery was perfect for McManus who set himself before guiding an excellent header beyond Jeacock and into the opposite corner.

Hale's free-kick from 25 yards nearly gave Gillingham a second, but his effort struck the top of the crossbar.

The Cobblers pulled level in the 36th minute when Tyrese Fornah found Briggs inside the box. His first shot was blocked by Omar Beckles, but the rebound fell nicely for the Northampton man who buried his second effort into the top corner.

Hale and Brophy both went close in a tense second half, but Jeacock was equal to both efforts.
