Trialist set to earn deal with Cobblers
Northampton manager Ian Sampson is keen to secure the services of trialist Marcus Hall.
Sampson is looking to find a new left-back following the departure of Peter Gilbert, who agreed fresh terms with the Cobblers back in May but missed the deadline to sign the contract and has since joined Southend.
Former Coventry defender Hall is currently training at Sixfields and Sampson told the club's
official website: "Marcus Hall is still on trial but hopefully if we can get everything sorted out then we can get him tied down to a contract.
"I've still got people ringing me up offering me left-backs but Marcus is the player in the box-seat at the moment.
"We are still looking to bring in another striker but the targets we've had have knocked us back so that is a little bit on the back burner at the moment."
