Karlan Grant will undergo a medical at Huddersfield on Monday ahead of a permanent switch from Charlton, Sky Sports News understands.
The two clubs are understood to have agreed a fee of £1.5m plus add-ons for the 21-year-old.
Sky Sports News reported last week that talks had begun over the former England youth striker's transfer.
Sky Bet Championship side Brentford were another of the clubs interested in Grant, who has scored 14 goals in 28 League One appearances this term.
New Huddersfield head coach Jan Siewert is seeking reinforcements in his bid to lead the club to Premier League survival.
Huddersfield are currently bottom of the table, 10 points behind 17th-placed Newcastle with 15 games to go.
Siewert's first match in charge will be at home to Everton on Tuesday.
