Chris Hughton says Brighton must respond to disappointing results

Brighton boss Chris Hughton believes it is "key" his players adapt to recovering from disappointing results if they are going to be successful in the Premier League.
Losing twice in a week was not a familiar occurrence for Brighton last season, so heading in to this weekend's game with Newcastle, Hughton will be hoping they can respond quickly after suffering two defeats to Bournemouth in the space of four days.
"The key is going to be responding to them (disappointing results). Putting them in the past and focusing on the next games and also trying to be happy with the majority of what you're seeing both in games and training," Hughton told reporters.
"We recognised at the start of the season it would be tougher season.
"The player's mindsets have been very good and so has the training and what we need to do is put as much of that in to practice on the main arena and the next opportunity is against Newcastle."
At the beginning of the season, Newcastle looked to be in crisis following a difficult transfer window, but have won their last three league games.
However, Hughton believes the Tyneside club are now reaping the rewards of the good business they did last summer.
"Recruitment is not just about one window, Newcastle recruited really well last season and some of the players doing particularly well for them at the moment are ones that were bought last season," said the Brighton boss.
"They've got lots of qualities and different ways of winning games. So not surprised, it's a tough division and you have to find different ways of winning."
Newcastle took the spoils both times the two sides met last season as they battled it out for the Championship title, but Hughton is hoping his players can capitalise on the home advantage and ruin the Magpies' unbeaten streak, live on Sky Sports Premier League.
"Every game is a different game. They are in good form with three wins and it just goes to show the margins - they've a very good centre-half in (Jamaal) Lascelles who has scored two goals from set plays and that can change those margins," he said.
"As a side and the way they play, in particular, the shape they are similar to ourselves. That could be why it was so close last season.
"But we are at home and we have to try and capitalise on our home form but we know we are up against a very good side in Newcastle that are in good form."
