Chesterfield have snapped up Brighton & Hove Albion full-back Andrew Whing on loan until the end of the season.
Whing has made just 11 appearances for the Seagulls this season and has not featured for Gus Poyet's side since late November.
He is behind Gavin Hoyte and Inigo Calderon in the pecking order and has accepted a drop down to League Two with Chesterfield.
The 25-year-old will go straight into the squad for Saturday's game at Cheltenham Town and Poyet believes Whing will benefit from his loan move.
Poyet told the club's
official website: "It's a similar situation to James Tunnicliffe, who is at MK Dons. Andrew has been out of our squad for a while now and he needs to play football games.
"It's important for him to stay in shape because he's one of our players under contract.
"I hope he enjoys it at Chesterfield, and we will keep an eye on his progress."
