African striker has caught the eye on trial at Brighton

Brighton & Hove Albion manager Gus Poyet is weighing up whether to make an offer for Habib Habibou following the striker's trial at the club. Skysports.com revealed last week that the Seagulls are interested in the 24-year-old after he spent time at Championship rivals Watford and West Ham United. The Central African Republic forward is understood to be available on loan from Belgian side Zulte Waregem and he could move to England in January. Poyet feels Habibou has done well during his trial period and is now deciding if the imposing front man is the type of player he needs to add to his squad. "It's very difficult for trialists," Poyet told The Argus. "Sometimes you feel sorry for them because they need to show what they can do in just a few days with people they don't know or maybe on a terrible pitch or in a friendly game. "He's been good, so we are going to do a few things with him just to confirm. "There are many options. We'll see which is the best one. We haven't really gone there yet, because first we need to see if he is the player that we need."
