The 26-year-old centre half was carried off the field ten minutes into Tuesday's Worthington Cup clash with QPR and is now waiting for the results of tests.
He has seen a specialist over the problem but it is believed that he has ruptured his Achilles tendon and faces a lengthy spell on the sidelines.
The news will be a huge blow to O's manager Paul Brush (pictured) as he already has centre half Simon Downer on the injured list and has a real problem with defensive cover.
Orient eventually won the game 3-2 and progress into the second round of the Worthington Cup, while R's boss Ian Holloway has yet to take his men beyond the first round of a cup competition..
