Yann Kermorgant has pledged his future to Bournemouth by signing a new two-year contract with the club.
The new deal keeps the 33-year-old French forward, who joined the Cherries from Charlton Athletic in January 2014, at the Vitality Stadium until the summer of 2017.
"I am delighted to carry on with Bournemouth and stay here," Kermorgant told the Daily Echo.
"I'm not saying I was going but maybe it was possible when we were in the market for another striker or two. I am pleased to have extended my contract for another year.
"I had two targets last season. My first one was to get promoted, which we did, and the second one was to get another contract. Unfortunately, it didn't happen for me in terms of the contract in the summer, so I am delighted it has now been sorted.
"The new deal gives me more freedom and confidence in myself and more security for my family.
"Maybe it affected me during the summer because it didn't happen then. Now it is done, I can focus on doing my best and getting back in the team."
Kermorgant played a vital role in Bournemouth's promotion winning campaign to the Premier League last season, scoring 15 times.
He is yet to start for Eddie Howe's side in the top-flight and faces competition for a starting spot from Callum Wilson, Joshua King and deadline-day signing Glenn Murray.
