Bristol City teenager Jonny Smith joins Cheltenham on loan

Bristol City teenager Jonny Smith has joined Cheltenham on loan until January.

The 18-year-old winger, who joined City from Wrexham during the summer for an undisclosed fee, will go straight into the Town squad for their League Two game at home to Doncaster on Saturday.

"He's a lad who has great potential and who will end up at least a Championship player," said Cheltenham boss Gary Johnson. "We've been chosen to give his career the platform it needs to kick on."

Smith has yet to make a first-team appearance for City.
