Bradford boss Phil Parkinson has scooped the League Two Manager of the Month award for December. Parkinson beat Port Vale chief Micky Adams, Accrington Stanley boss John Coleman and Cheltenham's Mark Yates to take the prize. Bradford enjoyed an unbeaten run in December, winning three and drawing the other game in the month to help them climb up the table.

Meanwhile, Accrington Stanley midfielder Bryan Hughes has won the Player of the Month award for December. The former Birmingham ace scored two goals as Accrington picked up ten points from a possible 12 in the month. Stanley boss Coleman paid tribute to Hughes for the impact he has made at the club since joining in October. "He's been smashing for us since he came. The lads have responded to him and he's responded to the lads," said Coleman. "He'd been out of football for a while. But he's worked hard on his fitness and trained with us for a period before he signed. "As he's got fitter he's got better. He's a top footballer."
