Rotherham suffered a sixth successive defeat as Peterborough battled to a 2-0 League One win at the New York Stadium.
Both Posh's goals came in the second period and lifted them further away from trouble as their unbeaten streak extended to six matches.
Rotherham came close to going ahead when Denzel Hall cut back a cross which Kion Etete acrobatically sent towards goal but into the arms of Alex Bass.

Peterborogh's Matthew Garbett then forced Cameron Dawson into a save with a stinging free-kick.
