Portsmouth midfielder Gary Roberts is a major doubt for the home game against Cambridge.

Roberts was forced out of Tuesday night's defeat at Barnet due to a hamstring injury and Kal Naismith is on stand-by to replace him again.

Fellow midfielder Gareth Evans is also a doubt after missing out in midweek with a similar problem sustained in last Saturday's draw at Yeovil.

Goalkeeper Brian Murphy is struggling with a calf problem after shaking off the effects of concussion and remains sidelined as Pompey chase only their second win in seven league games.

Cambridge will be without on-loan Pompey midfielder James Dunne, who is not available to face his parent club.

Fellow midfielder Conor Newton remains sidelined due to a back/hamstring problem but boss Shaun Derry has no new injury or suspension worries.

In the absence of both Dunne and Newton, Keith Keane could be back in contention following his return from a loan spell with Stevenage this week.
