Charlie Wyke scored a hat-trick as Carlisle moved to the top of Sky Bet League Two with a thumping 5-2 win at home to Mansfield.
The game did not start well for the Cumbrians when Pat Hoban headed in after six minutes, but once Jason Kennedy equalised from Nicky Adams' cross it was plain sailing for the home side.
Adams was again the provider for Carlisle's second goal as Wyke headed home in the 49th minute and the striker scored his second header after 62 minutes to make it 3-1.
He completed his hat-trick from the penalty spot with 10 minutes remaining and, after Mitchell Rose had pulled one back for the Stags, Reggie Lambe added a fifth against his former club.
Plymouth dropped to second as Jordan Slew's dismissal proved costly in a 2-1 defeat at Morecambe - their third consecutive loss.
Argyle found themselves behind after 20 minutes when Gary Miller was adjudged to have fouled Cole Stockton and Michael Rose rolled in the resulting penalty.
Plymouth equalised just before the break when a deep cross from Jake Jervis was misjudged by Shrimps goalkeeper Barry Roche and Oscar Threlkeld buried his header at the far post.
But Pilgrims forward Slew was sent off early in the second half for a second booking and Morecambe made them pay as Peter Murphy powered home a header from a corner in the 63rd minute.
Doncaster closed in on the Greens after a 3-1 win against struggling Leyton Orient.
A superb free-kick from Callum Kennedy gave Orient a 19th-minute lead, but Rovers were on level terms in first-half stoppage-time when Jordan Houghton fired home from the edge of the box.
Liam Mandeville fired the home side in front from the penalty spot after Matty Blair had been fouled and the same player scored another spot-kick after Tommy Rowe was felled to seal victory.
Wycombe and Blackpool moved into the play-off places with wins against Hartlepool and Newport respectively.
Scott Kashket scored both goals for the Chairboys in a 2-0 win, while Brad Potts, Jack Payne, Kyle Vassell and Kelvin Mellor were on target for Blackpool as they ran out 4-1 winners.
Stevenage made it four straight away victories with a surprise 2-1 success at Portsmouth. Two goals in four second-half minutes from Steven Schumacher and Matt Godden were enough to take maximum points.
Luke Berry scored twice as Cambridge claimed a 3-1 win against Cheltenham and Luke Gambin netted a brace for Barnet as they held on for a 3-2 victory against Notts County.
Jordan Roberts was the Crawley hero as his two goals helped his side to a 3-2 win against Grimsby, who saw Omar Bogle take his tally for the season to 16 goals in 19 League Two matches.
Colchester cruised to a 4-0 win against Crewe, while a stoppage-time equaliser from Romy Boco snatched Accrington a point in a 1-1 draw at home to Yeovil.
Exeter played out a goalless draw with Luton.
