Marc McNulty scored a second-half hat-trick as Coventry continued their Sky Bet League Two play-off push with a 4-0 home win over struggling Grimsby.
The Sky Blues went in front after 38 minutes when Peter Vincenti nodded in from a free-kick. McNulty added a second in the 56th minute before heading home a third and he completed his treble when lashing a half-volley into the top corner with three minutes left.
Wycombe, though, missed the chance to put pressure on the top two as they were held to a goalless draw at home by relegation battlers Port Vale. Exeter remain above Coventry in fifth place after coming from behind to beat Swindon 3-1 at St James Park.
Ten-man Mansfield, however, lost ground following a 2-0 away defeat at relegation battlers Forest Green. Harry Pell scored twice in the opening 12 minutes and Mohamed Eisa also grabbed a brace as Cheltenham won 5-3 at Crawley.
Cambridge fought back to earn a 1-1 draw at Carlisle. The home side took the lead early in the second half through Richie Bennett, but the U's were soon level when George Maris headed in after 50 minutes.
Crewe won 2-1 at Newport with goals in each half from Harry McKirdy and Jordan Bowery. Mikael Mandron's strike after 27 minutes was enough to give Colchester a 1-0 win at Stevenage, while it finished goalless between Morecambe and Lincoln, who remain just outside the play-off places.
Luton went back to the top of the league with a 2-0 win over Barnet in the late kick-off.
