Forest Green v Swindon preview

Forest Green welcome back captain Gavin Gunning for Swindon's derby visit in Sky Bet League Two.

Gunning has served a one-match ban for his recent red card at Bury and is likely to return to the starting line-up. Paul Digby could drop to the bench to make way for Gunning as Rovers seek to repeat their Carabao Cup victory over Swindon.

Unbeaten Rovers have a full squad to choose from and Brentford loanee Theo Archibald should keep his starting place after impressing on his debut against Stevenage in midweek.

Swindon must make changes after Toumani Diagouraga and James Dunne were sent off during Tuesday's 2-2 draw at Crawley and picked up three-match bans. Dunne has now been dismissed in the last two league games he has started.

Midfield pair Martin Smith and Jak McCourt, yet to make a league start since joining from Chesterfield, will come in to the reckoning. Striker Kaiyne Woolery seems set to miss out again with a knee injury.

Opta stats

Forest Green and Swindon have only met twice before in the Football League, both last season, and the Robins won both of those ties.

Forest Green failed to score in both of their matches against Swindon last season, one of only three opponents against whom they failed to score in League Two in 2017-18 (also Carlisle United and Grimsby Town).

Having drawn just twice in their 23 home league games in 2017-18 (W10 D2 L11), Forest Green have already drawn as many in their opening two such matches at the New Lawn this campaign.

Swindon have come from behind to win two league games this season, meaning they have gained more points from losing positions (six) than any other side in League Two so far.

Swindon saw both Toumani Diagouraga and James Dunne sent off in their last outing against Crawley Town, the first time they had received two red cards in a single league match since September 2016 against Oxford United.
