Striker marks debut by scoring the winner against Torquay
Chesterfield have snapped up Barry Conlon on an emergency loan from Grimsby Town with a view to signing the striker permanently until the end of the season.
The former Bradford frontman, who has scored five goals in 19 appearances for the Mariners this season, was this week placed on the transfer list along with Jamie Clarke, Danny Boshell and Matthew Heywood.
He has quickly secured a move away from Blundell Park by agreeing a deal to link up with League Two rivals Chesterfield.
And Conlon wasted no time in making an impact at his new club by scoring the only goal on his debut as the Spireites beat Torquay United at home on Saturday.
Boss John Sheridan has also bolstered his side with the signing of Dominic Green on a month-long loan deal from Championship club Peterborough.
