Former Norwich player and assistant boss Ian Butterworth is one of the frontrunners for the vacant managerial role at Torquay.

The Gulls are looking for a new manager after Paul Buckle left the Plainmoor hotseat to takeover as boss at Bristol Rovers. Butterworth has reportedly been interviewed for the job with the Gulls' board set to announce their decision on Monday. Former Torquay midfielders Alex Russell and Chris Hargreaves, ex-Falkirk and Hibs boss John Hughes, former Mansfield manager David Holdsworth and ex-Brenford caretaker boss Nicky Forster are also reportedly in contention for the role.
