Walsall are set to sign goalkeeper Mark Gillespie from Carlisle, according to Sky sources.

Sky Sports News HQ understands Gillespie has rejected a new contract at Carlisle and agreed a two-year deal at the Sky Bet League One club.

The 25-year-old featured 52 times in all competitions last season as Carlisle reached the League Two play-offs.

Gillespie, a product of the Carlisle academy, made his debut for the club as an 18-year-old in 2010 and has since appeared 180 times.

Walsall have been on the lookout for a new goalkeeper since May after losing Neil Etheridge to Championship side Cardiff.
