Highlights of the Sky Bet League Two match between Walsall and Accrington Stanley.

Promotion-chasing Walsall slipped two places to fifth in League Two as they were held to a scrappy stalemate by Accrington.

The Saddlers' top scorer Daniel Kanu came closest to breaking the deadlock with a second-half header that hit the woodwork but Stanley held out for a point.

Both teams struggled to create chances in an attritional first half, although Alex Pattison went close for Walsall early on when he rippled the side netting from an acute angle.

Pattison fired over on the stretch towards half-time while Accrington's best first-half opening fell to Isaac Heath but he scuffed a weak shot straight at Saddlers keeper Myles Roberts.

The second half was just as combative but Walsall fashioned the better chances and, with 15 minutes to go, Kanu met Evan Weir's free-kick with a diving header that crashed back off the bar.

The Saddlers went close again in stoppage time, Ollie Wright tipping Aden Flint's header over to ensure Accrington remain in 16th spot, 14 points clear of the bottom two.
