Shrewsbury Town sign Jack Hendry on loan from Wigan Athletic

Wigan defender Jack Hendry has joined Shrewsbury on loan until the end of the season.

Hendry, who joined Wigan from Partick Thistle last summer, will go straight into Shrewsbury's squad for Friday's home Sky Bet League 1 game against Port Vale.

"This is a great chance for Jack to get some regular game time and first-team football, giving him the opportunity to progress at a very competitive level," Wigan boss Gary Caldwell told the club's official website.

Hendry has made three senior appearances for Wigan this season after making his debut in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy win at Crewe in October.
