Highlights of the Sky Bet League One match between Rochdale and Shrewsbury

Shrewsbury Town defender Toto Nsiala suffered a fractured cheekbone during their 3-1 defeat at Rochdale on Friday.

Play was held up for 13 minutes during the first half as Nsiala received treatment following a clash of heads with Stephen Humphrys.

The 26-year-old was stretchered off wearing a neck brace and taken to hospital, where X-rays revealed the injury.

Shrewsbury tweeted: "Toto Nsiala has left hospital, the X-rays confirmed a fractured cheekbone but there was no sign of any neck injury.

"He will now see a consultant and we will have a better prognosis then. Thanks to all the medical staff at Rochdale for their help today."

Shrewsbury took an eighth-minute lead at Spotland when Nathan Thomas scored his second goal for the club but the visitors' momentum was broken when Nsiala was injured and Dale levelled deep in first-half injury time through Oliver Rathbone.

Rochdale scored twice in the final 10 minutes, either side of Shrewsbury being awarded a penalty, only for the referee to change his mind.

"I'm unhappy with the ending," said Shrews boss Paul Hurst. "We didn't have the bit of luck that we need at times.

"We hit the woodwork, we've had a penalty given that's then been overturned and we lost Toto as well, so it's not been a good day at all."
