Shrewsbury Town 2-0 Northampton Town

First-half goals from Kian McMahon-Brown and Kevin Berkoe did the damage as Shrewsbury got back to winning ways with a 2-0 victory over Northampton.

Gavin Cowan's Shrews had lost back-to-back games without scoring, but McMahon-Brown took just eight minutes to find the target on his home debut as he rifled a strike beyond Zach Jeacock.

Josh Davison almost made it two when he flashed a long-range effort past the post.

Shrews' stopper Will Brook produced a good save to keep out Harvey Saunders on the half hour while McMahon-Brown was denied a second by the furniture when his volley hit the post.

Berkoe doubled the lead on the stroke of half-time when he pounced to poke home the rebound after Davison's header was saved by Jeacock.

Jeacock kept McMahon-Brown out with a low save at his near post after the hour.
