Bristol Rovers have snapped up Liam Burns and Simon Ford on non-contract terms.Burns has spent several weeks training with The Pirates in the hope of clinching a contract at The Memorial Stadium.
The 25-year-old was released by Port Vale at the end of last term and linked up with the League Two side early in pre-season.
He appeared on the club's trip to the Isle of Man and had been in lengthy negotiations with Pirates boss Ian Atkins.
The midfielder has now settled on non-contract forms with Rovers and will be looking to secure a more permanent deal in the West Country.
Ford has signed a similar deal with Atkins' troops after the defender was released by Grimsby Town at the end of last season.
