Marcus Maddison has ended speculation about his future on transfer deadline day by signing a new three-year deal at Peterborough.

The 23-year-old attacking midfielder, recently linked with a move to Derby, has decided to stay at Posh until 2020.

The former Gateshead player has caught the eye at London Road, helping his side win their first four League One matches to sit top of the table.

Posh chairman Darragh MacAnthony announced the news on Twitter, saying: "I am delighted to announce that Marcus Maddison has signed a new three year deal with the club. The best attacking midfielder outside the Championship stays."
