German defender Max Muller has signed a short-term contract with Wycombe following a successful trial period.

The 22-year-old, who can also play in midfield, spent last season with Austrian club Salzburg.

He took part in the Sky Bet League Two club's pre-season trip to France but is now sidelined after suffering a hamstring injury in a 1-1 draw with Le Havre.

Chairboys manager Gareth Ainsworth said: "Max did really well and I saw enough to convince me to take a chance on him and see how he gets on when he's back from injury.

"He's a big lad, he's good on the ball and can play in a number of positions across the back-line or even in midfield, so I'm confident he can be a useful member of the squad.
