Magpies look at troika

Notts County are putting a trio of players through their paces this week.

The League Two outfit have handed Steve Burton, Youssou Diop and Lee Blackburn the chance to impress Magpies manager Ian Richardson (pictured).

Burton has headed to Meadow Lane from Kidderminster Harriers after losing his place in the current set-up at Aggborough.

The left back has not played for The Harriers since November and will be aiming to press his claims for a deal with The Magpies.

Former Harriers team-mate Diop is also on trial at Meadow Lane, following his release by Kidderminster boss Stuart Watkiss in December.

Diop had signed a one-year deal with the club last summer but agreed to a mutual termination and the Senegalese striker is now trying to revive his career at another League Two side.

The third player on trial is Blackburn, who is a third-year scholar at Norwich City but will not be rewarded with a professional contract at Carrow Road.

All three footballers will feature for the reserves against Darlington on Wednesday, with Diop on the bench and Burton and Blackburn in from the start.
