Defender keen to make most of chance to play first-team football again

Notts County defender Graeme Lee is hoping his recent performances will be enough to persuade the club to offer him a new contract this summer. The former Sheffield Wednesday centre-half has had an inconsistent season for the Magpies, with injuries, suspensions and managerial changes restricting him to just 14 starts. However, with the 32-year-old's contract set to run out at the end of the season, he admits he is just enjoying the chance to play regularly again after a frustrating campaign. "Nothing has happened yet, but a lot has been going on with games coming thick and fast," Lee told skysports.com.

Happy

"I'm just happy to get some games under my belt and show what I can do considering how the season has gone for me. "The injuries have hampered me a little bit, but I'm just focused on getting back fit and getting back into the starting line-up and taking it from there. "If my performances put thoughts in the manager's head about giving me a new contract then I would be over the moon, but the way the season has gone so far I just want to be playing football. "When it comes round to the end of the season we'll see whether I'm in his plans for the future or not, but I'm just focused on playing as much football as I can between now and the end of the season."
