Lancashire clubs vying for teenager's signature

Skysports.com understands Bolton and Burnley are battling it out for Oldham hot-shot Tom Eaves. The Liverpool-born striker has been tracked by several Premier League clubs over the summer with the likes of Everton, West Ham and Newcastle said to be monitoring the talented teenager's movements. But it now looks like Lancashire is the preferred destination for the 18-year-old marksman, with a move to top-flight Bolton or Championship outfit Burnley on the cards. Eaves caught the eye of Wanderers boss Owen Coyle when he netted a hat-trick against the Trotters in their pre-season fixture last month. And the former Crewe youngster was left out of the Latics' last friendly against Peterborough, adding strength to claims he could be set to leave Boundary Park. Eaves, who made 15 substitute appearances for Oldham last season, is thought to be discussing his options with his advisers about what will be the best move at this stage of his career.
