Black Cats youngster to gain experience at Brunton Park

Carlisle United have brought in Sunderland teenager Michael Liddle on loan until early January. Liddle has yet to make a first-team appearance for Sunderland and has been allowed out to gain experience at Brunton Park. The left-back is set to be involved in Carlisle's League One game with Brighton on Saturday and caretaker manager Greg Abbott is looking forward to seeing the 18-year-old in action. "He is a good young player, and we like what we've seen, so we're looking forward to working with him over the course of the next few months," Abbott told the club's official website. In joining Carlisle, the Republic of Ireland Under 21 international links up with Sunderland colleague Graham Kavanagh.
