Teenage goalkeeper Dan Lavercombe has joined Wigan from Torquay and been loaned back to the Gulls for the remainder of the campaign.
The 19-year-old stopper has penned a two-and-a-half-year deal with Latics following a successful trial and will now stay with Torquay in the Vanarama National League and look to add to his 11 appearances this term.
"Dan is a young goalkeeper who has lots of potential, he's impressed us a lot during the short time that he's been with us," manager Gary Caldwell said on Latics' official website.
"He won't be here straight away because he'll be going back to Torquay to play games for the rest of the season, but he's a real find for the future."
