Hibernian's hopes of automatic promotion from the Scottish Championship suffered another major blow as they lost 3-2 to Dumbarton at the Bet Butler Stadium.
Hibs, who were also beaten 3-0 at home by Morton in midweek, are now 11 points behind leaders Rangers who snatched a 1-0 home win over St Mirren thanks to a late goal from Harry Forrester.
Dumbarton took the lead in the 20th minute when Kevin Cawley collected the ball and unleashed a 25-yard shot which flew into the bottom corner.
Former Hearts man Christian Nade doubled Dumbarton's advantage three minutes before the break, heading home a Mark Docherty cross.
It was 3-0 in the 48th minute when Darren Barr, another former Jambo, nodded in Calum Waters' corner.
Liam Henderson, who saw his fifth-minute volley hit the bar, pulled a goal back in the 57th minute with a curling effort into the top corner.
Substitute Farid El Alagui cut the deficit to one goal with 19 minutes remaining, ramming the ball home from a corner, but the Sons held firm to secure the three points.
Third-placed Falkirk came from a goal down to beat Queen of the South 3-1 at Falkirk Stadium to maintain their push for promotion and close within two points of Hibs.
The visitors went ahead just before the break when Chris Higgins headed in from a free-kick by Ryan Conroy.
Falkirk were level early in the second half when Myles Hippolyte's cross was nodded in by John Biard from close range.
The home side claimed the lead when Queen of the South defender Andy Dowie headed a cross into his own net.
With just over five minutes to go Blair Alston completed the comeback when he drove low into the bottom corner of the goal from a pass by Aaron Muirhead.
An unattended package was discovered during the post-match security sweep at the stadium, but it was declared safe by a police expert when it was found to be a box of chocolates.
Declan McManus' second-half brace was not enough as Raith Rovers struck back late on to edge a 3-2 victory over Morton in their mid-table battle at Stark's Park.
McManus fired wide for the visitors in a lively start before Rovers defender Rory McKeown put his side ahead after seven minutes, slotting home from just outside the box with his first goal for the club.
Morton looked to pull one back and finally got their reward through McManus' close-range equaliser deep into the second half, but the hosts hit back moments later as Aidan Connolly fired home to restore his side's narrow lead.
McManus found the net a second time as he slotted into the bottom corner with three minutes remaining only for Raith substitute Ryan Hardie to hit back to hand his side all three points at the death for their second consecutive win.
Livingston boosted their hopes of survival with a 3-1 victory at bottom club Alloa, the gap between the two now standing at seven points.
Jackson Longridge, with his first goal for the club, opened the scoring in the 11th minute when he slotted home after good work from Charlie Telfer.
Three minutes later, Telfer's cross was missed by the defender and Jordan White tapped in - his first goal since November.
Alloa reduced the deficit in the 19th minute when Michael Duffy registered his maiden strike for the club.
But Telfer played his part in Livi's third six minutes before half-time, with Daniel Mullen's lay-off converted by on-loan Samuel Stanton.
It was a first victory in eight for Livi while Alloa's winless streak extended to six.
