Dundee United in talks with Raith Rovers over their manager Ray McKinnon - Sky sources

Dundee United are in talks with Raith Rovers to bring their manager Ray McKinnon to Tannadice, according to Sky sources.
United are searching for a replacement for Mixu Paatelainen, who was sacked last week following the club's relegation from the Scottish Premiership, and have made a move for the former Brechin boss.
A statement on the Rovers website said an approach had been made for McKinnon, who steered Raith to the Premiership play-offs this season only to lose 2-1 on aggregate to Hibernian, but that "permission has not been granted".
However, Sky sources understand United were not rebuffed by Rovers, and that talks are continuing over a compensation deal that would see McKinnon return to the club where he enjoyed two spells as a player.
