Rangers v St Johnstone preview: Jordan Rossiter and Danny Wilson still absent for Gers
Wednesday 26 October 2016 20:22, UK
Rangers will again be without Jordan Rossiter and Danny Wilson for Wednesday night's Scottish Premiership clash with St Johnstone.
Midfielder Rossiter, whose career at Liverpool was hampered by injury, has been out of action since August when he was substituted in the 1-1 draw at Kilmarnock.
Centre-back Wilson is progressing after tearing a thigh muscle but is not quite ready to return to action while Rangers are still waiting for official confirmation on how long midfielder Niko Kranjcar will be out of action for after injuring his knee in training.
Joey Barton also remains unavailable as he continues to serve a club suspension following a dressing room fall out with manager Mark Warburton and team-mate Andy Halliday in the wake of September's 5-1 defeat to Celtic in the Old Firm derby.
Rangers will be looking to bounce back from Sunday's League Cup semi-final defeat to Celtic and will move above fourth-placed Saints with a win.
St Johnstone came through their derby victory over Dundee on Sunday unscathed ahead of their trip to Glasgow.
Defender Tam Scobbie, who has been unavailable since August, is close to a comeback but is unlikely to feature at Ibrox.
Fellow defenders Keith Watson (thigh) and Ally Gilchrist (groin) are making good progress but remain out of action.
