Forrest was injured in the early stages of the 2-0 victory over Hamilton at Celtic Park on Saturday, and although the player is moving freely, he may be given extra time to recover.

Jozo Simunovic, who suffered a hamstring pull shortly before the Accies game, is doubtful for the trip to the Highlands and Erik Sviatchenko will almost certainly retain his place in central defence.

Patrick Roberts will be absent again as he recovers from a recent hamstring injury, but the on-loan Manchester City winger will return to training later this week after missing the last three matches.

Striker Leigh Griffiths returned to action in the latter stages of Saturday's game following recent calf problems and will be in the squad while Mikael Lustig could replace Cristian Gamboa at right-back after the Sweden international was rested for the Hamilton clash.

Inverness boss Richie Foran will have to do without Aaron Doran for the visit of The Hoops, as the forward recovers from a knee injury.

Striker Billy McKay, who scored a last-gasp winner in the 2-1 victory over Rangers on Friday, has a groin injury but is expected to start.

Defender Carl Tremarco and striker Henri Anier both missed training on Monday due to hip injuries, but are expected to play on Wednesday.

Inverness are the only team in Scotland to have avoided defeat against Celtic this season, drawing 2-2 when the sides met in September.

Celtic, who are 24 points clear at the top of the table, beat Caley Thistle 3-0 in their next league game in November and 6-0 in their recent Scottish Cup tie, with Moussa Dembele netting a hat-trick.
