Accies bring in new striker
Hamilton have snapped up former Northampton striker Derek Asamoah on a short-term deal until the end of the season.
The 27-year-old Ghanaian, who has also had spells with Mansfield, Lincoln, Chester and Shrewsbury, was most recently at Nice in France.
Asamoah is Hamilton's third signing in the last fortnight following the captures of former Newcastle defender Lamine Diatta and ex-Manchester United youth forward Christy Fagan.
Accies boss Billy Reid is set to include all three players in his squad for this weekend's trip to Celtic
"We'd applied for clearance for the past three or four days. Sometimes in France it takes a bit longer," said Reid.
"He's just an addition to the squad between now and the end of the season and we'll have a look at him, he'll have a look at us and hopefully he can contribute."
Asamoah will help fill the void left by the injury to top scorer Richard Offiong who is facing a further three weeks out of action with a knee problem.
"Richard's going to be missing for a few weeks so that's a big, big blow," added Reid.
"We have struggled to score goals in recent weeks.
"Asamoah's definitely got a goal in him, as has young Chris. He is another young lad at 19 and that's what the club's all about, bringing young players through."
