Defender Dorin Goian insists Rangers will not grow complacent despite holding a nine point lead at the top of the Scottish Premier League.
The Scottish champions play host to Dundee United at Ibrox this weekend hoping to maintain their unbeaten SPL run and tighten their hold on the top spot.
Old Firm rivals Celtic, who travel to second-placed Motherwell on Sunday, currently sit third and 12 points behind Ally McCoist's men.
Goian is thrilled with the start Rangers have made to his debut campaign but claims no one is getting carried away by the success they have enjoyed so far.
He said: "Any time when you are top of the league it is normal to be happy. But at the moment we have not won anything.
"We want to be first in May when the season is finished. At the moment we have achieved nothing and it is too early to think that we are first."
The Romanian defender has slotted seamlessly into life at the Glasgow giants and has forged an impressive partnership with fellow summer signing Carlos Bocanegra in the heart of defence.
Surprised
He said: "I'm a little bit surprised, but I work hard, that is the kind of player I am and I knew when I came here if I worked hard I could play and win games.
"My experience from Italy and from Steaua Bucharest has helped me a lot and I have found some extraordinary team mates here that have helped me too.
"I am enjoying playing for Rangers, it's incredible here and in my mind I want to stay here for many years.
"Carlos Bocanegra is a very good player and he also has a lot of experience and I think that is important for us."
His performances have helped to establish Goian as a fans' favourite already and he added: "I'm glad that the fans are with me and with the team.
"It's the most important thing for a club to have that from their fans even in the moments when things are not going well."
