Manager inks two-year extension at Rugby Park

Kilmarnock boss Kenny Shiels has signed a two-year extension to his contract at Rugby Park. The Northern Irishman took Killie to Scottish Communities League Cup glory in his first full season in the role with victory over Celtic in March. Shiels also guided Killie to a seventh-placed finish this term. The 56-year-old admitted earlier this month he had rejected overtures from an English club as he wanted to stay at Rugby Park. Killie chairman Michael Johnston was delighted to tie down Shiels to a new long-term deal. "I am delighted to say that Kenny has agreed a two-year extension to his contract so he will be here for another two years and I am looking forward to working with Kenny and Jimmy (Nicholl)," said Johnston.
